Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!
by Robert T. Kiyosaki
“Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki fundamentally changed the way I view wealth and assets. It taught me the importance of financial education and inspired me to adopt a mindset focused on building assets that generate passive income. It’s also one of the reasons I opened up a HYSA (High Yield Savings Account), a UGMA, and a Roth IRA for our daughter before she even turned one year old. My school system did little to teach me about money and setting myself up for my financial future and it’s just more apparent to me now that this is something as parents we need to do. This book is a good read, even if you don’t have kids.
The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy

Thomas J. Stanley’s “The Millionaire Next Door” offered a fascinating glimpse into the habits and lifestyles of America’s wealthy. By adopting the principles of frugality and disciplined saving outlined in this book, I’ve been able to accelerate my journey toward financial independence. This is why it makes my list of must read books to get rich.
The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness
by Dave Ramsey
Dave Ramsey is well known in the world of getting a budget and getting out of debt. Ramsey provides a clear, actionable road map for getting out of debt and building wealth. By following Ramsey’s advice, you can eliminate debt and create a solid foundation for your financial future. I do have to admit, I did not solidly follow his path as I was already on my own path out of debt before I found his book and his baby steps.
Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones
by James Clear
James Clear’s “Atomic Habits” helped me understand the power of small, incremental changes in shaping my financial habits. By implementing tiny habits and routines, I’ve been able to make consistent progress towards my financial goals. If you find it difficult to alter your habits, it’s not a reflection on you as an individual. Rather, it indicates an issue with your system. The persistence of undesirable habits isn’t due to a lack of desire for change but rather stems from employing an ineffective system for implementing change. Because this can be applied to so many areas in your life, it makes my list of must read books if you want to get rich.

Economic Facts and Fallacies
by Thomas Sowell
If you’ve already read many of the other books above, I would choose this one next. Sowell’s Economic Facts and Fallacies gave me a deeper understanding of economic principles and the impact of government policies on personal finances. You don’t need prior knowledge of economics to read this book.
Overall, these books have been instrumental in shaping my financial journey, equipping me with the knowledge, mindset, and strategies necessary to achieve my goals. Whether it’s through mastering the psychology of money, starting a side hustle, or adopting healthy financial habits, each book has played a crucial role in my quest for financial freedom.
